The Daily Post is hosting a weekly photo challenge. I think this is a fabulous idea and have been enjoying the other posts from bloggers around the world – especially their unique interpretations on these challenges.
This is my first week and the challenge is to take a self-portrait. Here’s my entry:
- View from below
I took this photo while hiking the Appalachian Trail this Spring – Fall. I came across a random power line tower and thought it would be a cool perspective.
My camera is an Olympus Stylus SW 850 that is perfect for hiking. Water-proof, shock-proof, freeze-proof, and even goof-proof this little point-and-shoot camera made it with me from Georgia all the way to Maine.
I sharpened the image using Corel PaintShop Pro X4.

Fantastic perspective with the lines and the leaves blending so well! I have always wanted to do the Appalachian trail but I suspect I like the thought of it more than I might the slog of the reality. Lovely shot!

yeah. i like the perspective. fun.
one of the things i like about the WP Weekly Photo Challenge is that i get to interpret it any way i choose. to me that means if i can connect it to the theme/prompt in some way – that counts as far as i’m concerned. i like that. …and yeah it makes for some extreme exploration at times. sounds like you move in that direction in a number of ways. cool walk on. and way cool on joining in too. aloha.
